Talib Kweli, whose name means "seeker of truth," created hip-hop history as part of the dynamic duo Black Star. Along with longtime friend and business partner Mos Def, Kweli released Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star in 1998, and went on to produce the classic Reflection Eternal in 2000 - a collaboration with DJ Hi-Tek.
After much speculation as to when Kweli would release his first solo full-length album, Quality was released in early 2002, and featured collaborations with some of the music industry's most-esteemed artists and producers, such as Kanye West, Jay Dee and DJ Quik.hi
Basically, Kweli is a rapper everyone should listen to on their ipod travelling by train across town so that you can truly hear the words spoken. Only then will you really appreciate his strength.
