How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, U2.
Well, it's here at last! U2's first studio album in four years. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb is truly an exceptional album. It actually surpasses All That you Can't Leave Behind in my opinion.
There is a real edge to this album, which opens with the beautifully rocky Vertigo but by track two Miracle Drug it changes direction. This really sets the tone for the rest of the album and some fine, fine tunes.
Sometimes You Can't Make it on Your Own is another slow burner and a distant cousin of Stuck in a Moment. Original of the Species is one of the album's standout tracks (you won't be able to get this one out of your head all week - I guarantee). The great tracks just keep on coming; Love and Peace, or Else begins like the opening track from the movie Seven, whilst Crumbs from Your Table is Bono's emotional song for the African Aids crisis.
The great thing about this album is that it delivers the goods yet again and quietens those who would love to write U2 off.
Glory be! I love it!
